U.S.S Constitution

Monday, May 17th, 2010

The U.S.S. Constitution is the oldest ship in the US Navy that is still commissioned. We had the great honor to be the FIRST band to EVER perform on the ship for the crew! The ship was first set to sea from the Boston harbor in 1797 and was in active duty until 1855. Also, this past October, President Obama named the shop the official Ship of State (that’s like the Bald Eagle… but a ship)!! This ship was seeerioously cool. Our buddy, Jacob, who is a sailor (not to be confused with Jacob our tour manager) is the one that made this whole thing happen; thank you thank you thank you, Jacob!! He took us all around the ship and gave us the VIP tour and Brandon got to fire a cannon. Seriously, he did. We are so honored to be asked aboard this historic ship and perform for the brave men and women that serve aboard to protect our freedom and fight for us. From the bottom of our hearts we thank you for everything you do. We can’t wait to come back to Boston and hang out with you guys again!! If you’re in Boston you should go check out this ship, it’s open to the public.

This is Jacob. He’s awesome.

Nuclear Photo Shoot

Friday, May 14th, 2010

So, when we were in Delaware we had our great friend and AMAZING photographer, Andrew Shepherd, come out and do a photo shoot for our upcoming album.  If you haven’t seen Andrew’s stuff, you should, he’s brilliant!  It was quite the adventure. We somehow found a nuclear power plant.  It was awesome and scary all at the same time.  Definitely the first time I’d ever seen one in person. Also, it was right by a bay/river/lake thingy that people were fishing in. Ya gotta wonder about those fish, right? Anyway, I can’t show you the new photos Andrew took yet, but here’s the power plant, Andrew, and some Delaware scenery:

This is Maria. She’s a huge fan and a friend of ours in NY. We played a show that she put on last week and she showed us her new tattoo: a Sleeperstar lyric from “Disengage” and a bullseye from “Bullseye Trigger”!!  It’s awesome, Maria, we are humbled and flattered you would make us a part of you forever!! Thank you!! See you soon.
